SJK(C) Bukit Serdang is a new a school located in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, an highly populated housing area. This fully aided school was established on 3 August 2015 with initial total student enrolment at 255. The total student enrolment has increased significantly to 892 in 2019.
In 2017, the school received 330 applications for Standard 1 enrolment but only 160 students were accepted and the remaining 170 applications rejected due to insufficient academic classrooms. The school had another challenge with the limited seating capacity in the canteen and as such, the recess time had to be organized in 2 sessions.
The school requested funding from TCC to construct two new floors above the school’s existing 1-storey canteen and to extend the school’s canteen. The construction works commenced in November 2017 and the new extension to the existing building received its Certificate of Completion and Compliance (“CCC”) in September 2019.
The school has an enlarged canteen seating area, 7 new additional academic classrooms and a new multipurpose hall. TCC also assisted to furnish 7 classrooms with a total of 350 sets of student tables and chairs.
