Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay

Tan Sri Lim, a Founding Member and Permanent Trustee of The Community Chest, graduated from the University of London, UK with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and attended the Programme for Management Development of Harvard Business School, Harvard University.  Tan Sri Lim is the Chairman and Chief Executive of Genting Berhad, the Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive of Genting Malaysia Berhad, the Deputy Chairman and Executive Director of Genting Plantations Berhad as well as the Executive Chairman of Genting Singapore Limited and Genting UK Plc. Tan Sri Lim sits on the Board of Trustees of several charitable organizations, including Yayasan Lim Goh Tong.

Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Cheng Heng Jem

Tan Sri Cheng, a Founding Member and Permanent Trustee of The Community Chest and Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Lion Group, has more than  40 years of business experience encompassing steel, retail, property development, mining, oil and gas, agriculture and computer operations.  Tan Sri Cheng is the Chairman and Managing Director of Parkson Holdings Berhad, the Chairman of Lion Forest Industries Berhad, Parkson Retail Group Limited, Parkson Retail Asia Limited and Lion AMB Resources Berhad, the Managing Director of Lion Industries Corporation Berhad as well as a Director of Lion Teck Chiang Limited and Lion Asiapac Limited. Two foundations established by The Lion Group, namely Lion-Parkson Foundation disburses funds for various needs such as education, charity and scientific research, while Lion Group Medical Assistance Fund provides financial assistance to the less fortunate who require medical treatment.   Tan Sri Cheng is the President of The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCIM) and The Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (KLSCCCI). Tan Sri Cheng is now a Life Honorary President of the ACCIM and Honorary President of the KLSCCCI.

Tan Sri Datuk Seri Chua Ma Yu

Tan Sri Datuk Seri Chua, a Founding Member and Permanent Trustee of The Community Chest, graduated from Nanyang University, Singapore with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accountancy. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Chua is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Fellow of Certified Public Accountants of Australia, Fellow of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore and a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Chua is the Executive Chairman of CMY Capital Group, an active global investor with its principal activities being investment holdings, equity investments, hotel/resort and real estate developments.  Tan Sri Datuk Seri Chua was the Co-Founder/President and CEO of RHB Capital Group from 1983 to 1992.  Tan Sri Datuk Seri Chua is a Director of Yayasan Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, a charity foundation of which the Raja of Perlis, DYMM Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, is the patron.  Tan Sri Datuk Seri Chua is also a Director of Yayasan Toh Puan Zurina, a charity foundation of which the patron is Yang Dipertua Negeri Melaka Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob.

Mr Chong Kin Leong

Mr Chong Kin Leong, an Honorary Trustee of The Community Chest, graduated from the University of Malaya with an Honours Degree in Bachelor of Accounting in February 1981. He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants, respectively, and also sits on the Interpretation Committee of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board.

Prior to his retirement  from Genting  Berhad  on 31 December  2018  as its Chief Financial Officer, a position he held since May 2003, Mr Chong worked in various capacities in companies in the Sime Darby Berhad Group for the period from January 1985 to December 1993 and in Rashid Hussain Berhad/RHB Group for the period from December 1993 to February 2003, where his last position was Finance Director.

Mr Chong was also an Alternate Director of Jana Pendidikan Malaysia Sdn Bhd (the holding company  of Pan Malaysian  Pools  Sdn Bhd, the primary  funder  of The Community  Chest) from July 2011 until 31 December 2018.

Datuk Edward Lee Ming Foo

Datuk Edward Lee, an Honorary Trustee of The Community Chest, graduated from the McMaster University in Canada with a Degree in Bachelor of Arts in 1977. Datuk Edward Lee is the Managing Director of Hap Seng Consolidated Berhad (HSCB), Gek Poh (Holdings) Sdn Bhd (the holding company of HSCB) and Hap Seng Plantations Holdings Berhad. Datuk Edward Lee is also a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Hafary Holdings Limited, a company incorporated in Singapore and listed on the Mainboard of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited and an Alternate Director of Jana Pendidikan Malaysia Sdn Bhd (the holding company of Pan Malaysian Pools Sdn Bhd, the primary funder of The Community Chest) since 18 July 2011. Datuk Edward Lee joined the Malaysian Mosaics Sdn Bhd (formerly known as Malaysian Mosaics Berhad) group of companies since 1980 and assumed the Managing Director position from 31 March 2005 to 31 January 2007.

Dato’ Dr. Thillainathan a/l Ramasamy

Dato’ Dr. Thillainathan a/l Ramasamy, an Honorary Trustee of The Community Chest, graduated from the University of Malaya with a Class 1 Honours in Bachelor of Arts (Economics) Degree in 1968. Dato’ obtained his Master’s Degree and PhD in Economics from the London School of Economics in 1970 and 1976 respectively. Dato’ is also a Fellow member of the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers.

Dato’ Dr. Thillainathan has extensive years of experience in finance and banking whereby he has been working across several sectors with established organisations ranging from financial institutions to insurance companies and learning institutions to petroleum company etc. Currently, Dato’ sits on the Boards of Public Investment Bank Berhad (PIVB), IDEAS Policy Research Berhad, Child Information, Learning and Development Centre (CHILD), Yayasan MEA and Creador Foundation as well as the Chairman of the Board of PIVB and CHILD.

Dato’ Dr. Thillainathan has served Genting Berhad (GENT) Group since 1989 until his retirement with his latest position as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of GENT on 13 June 2024. Dato’ is also the former President of Malaysian Economic Association and the former member of EPF Investment Panel.

Mr Tham Che Kong

Mr Tham Che Kong, an Honorary Trustee of The Community Chest, has extensive experience in both the stock market and construction industries. Additionally, he is actively involved in several charitable activities, demonstrating his commitment to giving back to the community.

Currently, Mr Tham is a Director of New Era University College and The Selangor And Kuala Lumpur Kwang Tung Association, the President of The Selangor & Federal Territory Chung Shan Association, the Conference Consultant of The Confucian School Alumni Association, Federal Territory and Selangor as well as the Adviser of Zhongshan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Honorary Director of Zhongshan Overseas Friendship Association.
