SJK(T) Simpang Lima which was established in 1904 is currently the largest Tamil primary school in Malaysia in terms of student population.
The school has consistently maintained its reputation as the best performing Tamil school in Selangor as well as nationwide for UPSR. As such, the students’ intake continues to increase yearly and the school had to organize its students in 2 sessions due to insufficient academic classrooms.
SJK(T) Simpang Lima proposed to demolish 2 existing blocks of single-storey buildings comprising of 6 classrooms and build three new blocks of 4-storey buildings comprising of a total of 72 classrooms.
TCC fully funded the above project and its contribution of RM6.25 million is the single largest donation made to-date. The construction works commenced in December 2013 and the new 3 blocks of buildings, named “The Community Chest” buildings were completed with the issuance of Certificate of Practical Completion (“CPC”) issued on 12 October 2015.With these newly completed buildings ready, the school is able to increase its students intake as well as accommodate the students in 1 session.
