SK Sungai Amang is a partially aided school located at rural area of Kapit district. It was established in 1957 at Rumah Panjang Achan and it was moved to its current location with its pupils mainly from Selirik, Melekun, Baleh River and Rajang River.
The increase of the population growth from the feeder housing estates and villages, and due to the shortage of classrooms, the school was unable to have new intake since last few years.
Hence, TCC assisted to construct a new Academic Block comprising of one block 2-storey building comprising of 8 classrooms and toilets and supplied a total of 73 sets of students tables and chairs.
The school obtained its Occupational Permit on 9 March 2021, Certificate of Practical Completion on 18 December 2020 and Certificate of Making Good Defects on 24 January 2022.
Presently, Standard 4, 5 and 6 students are occupying “The Community Chest Building” classroom building.
